Protecting nature is a joint effort that unites us all, but it doesn’t have to exclude innovative design, memorable style and powerful computing potential. With a U Series Bamboo Collection notebook, you can do your part for the environment without compromising cutting edge computing and stylish mobility. It’s the natural choice, really.
The Beauty of Design
If you’re both fashion and eco conscious, the U Series Bamboo Collection was made for you. Each notebook sports a smoky brown bamboo exterior that’s not overly treated so as to retain its organic look , properties and tactility—creating a personal journey for person and machine as the wood matures and changes with time. The natural bamboo is juxtaposed with sleek, brushed aluminum interior surfaces and a seamless chiclet keyboard that is as comfortable to use as it is great to look at. These smart design decisions add up to a notebook that’s very light, making it easy for you to become an ambassador of good taste and environmental responsibility.
Bamboo was picked not just for its fetching looks; it was chosen
after research identified it as a quickly-replenishing resource whose
utilization has almost no impact on the environment. Bamboo also has a
tensile strength that rivals that of steel, making it a perfect
substitute for plastic. The product packaging is equally eco-friendly,
made of 100% natural and recyclable bamboo pulp and non-woven packing
cloth.
The Beauty of Performance
U Series Bamboo Collection notebooks are as brainy as they are
beautiful. ASUS’ exclusive Super Hybrid Engine (SHE) monitors processing
loads and delivers the exact amount of power suited to the task at
hand. Energy efficiency is further bolstered by NVIDIA Optimus
technology that switches between high end discrete graphics and normal
integrated visuals, depending on system usage. These two intelligent
technologies combine to conserve not just our planet, but also the
notebook’s battery—prolonging usability while lowering energy
consumption.U Series Bamboo Collection notebooks also feature Syncables technology that enables effortless syncing with a plethora of devices, including desktop PCs, other notebooks, smartphones and digital cameras. This makes it easy to share files, backup data and access collections quickly. Intelligent syncing allows you to get more done using one light notebook as your nexus—invariably reducing the overall energy footprint as less equipment needs to be powered on at the same time.
USB 3.0 is another new addition to the range, enabling data transfers
that are up to ten times faster than USB 2.0. USB 3.0 is fully backward
compatible, so you can be assured that all of your existing USB devices
can still be used. And while transferring massive content and large
files in mere seconds is a plus, USB 3.0 is also good for the
environment, since it charges devices much faster than USB 2.0,
requiring less power to do so.The Beauty of Sight and Sound
The U Series Bamboo Collection is designed to deliver a stunning
audio-visual experience. The vibrant and crisp LCD panel comes with a
Zero Bright-Dot guarantee, providing peace of mind against dead pixels,
while ASUS Splendid Video Intelligence Technology automatically tweaks
colors, sharpness and other visual parameters to ensure the best
experience regardless of the content being viewed. The superb visuals
are matched by the notebook’s pristine and accurate audio delivery,
thanks to high fidelity SRS Premium Surround Sound.
*U Series Bamboo Collection
notebooks are made with genuine bamboo and thus bear unique,
naturally-occurring wood grain patterns. As with any organic product,
these patterns and textures may change with time. These are due to the
natural characteristics of bamboo and do not indicate a defective
material.
The world of portable gaming has a new reigning king. The G74SX is a
performance notebook that imposes its will with the combined power of a
second generation Intel® Core™ i7 CPU and NVIDIA® GTX 560M GPU with 3GB
of GDDR5 VRAM. A score of P2008 in 3DMark11 and P9180 in 3DMark Vantage
takes over the reins as the fastest notebook in the land. Support for
DirectX®11 ensures that you’ll not only have the fastest rig in town,
but also the ability to play games as they were meant to be seen for a
long time.
The G74SX is great for gaming, but its hardware is serious business.
It offers the best 3D ecosystem for PCs, offering 3D content creation
and editing. It’s powered with NVIDIA® 3D Vision™, so games, photos and
movies are all able to be enjoyed like never before. There’s also the
ability to output the G74SX to a 3D TV, so you can enjoy 3D
entertainment from the living room. Pair that up with THX + EAX 5.0 3D
gaming audio technology, and together they make the G74 not only a great
gaming notebook, but also a hub for multimedia entertainment.
